How the Fish System Works
Heavyweight Fishing divides fish into families tied to the island chain. Each island has its own fish roster, and your rod's Power stat determines which families you can actually land without snapping the line. Selling fish is your main Cash source, and glowing rare fish (a Luck-based drop) are the high-value prize on every island. Source: cross-checked between BloxInformer, Roonby All Islands Guide (29 August 2026), and the live Fish Index in-game.
This page catalogs the fish families by island. For individual Latin names and stat blocks, see the in-game Fish Index — the wiki tracks family categories, not invented species names.
Starter Hub Fish (Beginning Isle)
The first island sells to starter and Iron Hook Rods:
- Trout and Catfish — basic commons, fastest Cash per cast at Level 1.
- Crimson Catfish / Crimson Carp — slightly rarer commons, modest Cash upgrade.
- Emerald Carp — early Luck-target fish.
- Tilapia — standard Cash workhorse.
- Golden Carp / Royal Carp — first "premium" commons.
- Arrogant Fish — slightly harder to land, decent Cash.
- Platinum Carp — first Luck-target rare.
- Volt Grass Carp / Azure Carp — late-starter Luck-targets.
Mid-Island Fish (Bamboo, Fallout, Sovereign)
These islands unlock as your rod Power climbs. Each island adds new families:
- Bamboo Isle (19 Power) — Hroned Silver Carp, Blackfin Grass Carp, Crimsonfin Grass Carp, Goldfin Grass Carp, Rosefin Grass Carp, Azurefin Grass Carp, Sovereign Grass Carp, Dragonhead Tilapia, Elder Dragonhead Tilapia.
- Fallout Isle (32 Power) — Spiked Salmon, Platescale Tilapia, Azure Salmon, Sunscale Salmon, Runic Horn Grouper, Ironhorn Flounder.
- Sovereign Isle (39 Power) — Boundeye Fish, Baby Jialong Dragonfish, Gold Crucian Carp, Dragonstride Carp, Terratiger Depthfish I–III, Adult Jialong Dragonfish, Elder Chainbound Shark, Elder Jialong Dragonfish, Trueform Jialngfish.
Sovereign Isle is the first island with named boss-tier fish (Elder Jialong Dragonfish, Elder Chainbound Shark). Save Phoenix Strike Art or Whirlwind Fishing Art before grinding these families.
Late-Island Fish (Perch, Frost, Coconut, Amber)
The four endgame islands host the heaviest fish:
- Perch Isle (48 Power) — Elder Perch I through VIII plus Ascended Perch. Pure grind island.
- Frost Isle (55 Power) — Fleshripper Fish, Kunfish I–III, Adult Kunfish, Elder Kunfish, Primordial Kunfish.
- Coconut Isle (65 Power) — Armored Battlefish, Darkness Battlefish, Dragon Battlefish, Phantom Battlefish, Crimson War Carp, Emerald War Carp, Mutated Koi Whale.
- Amber Isle (75 Power) — Sand Anchovy, Abyssal Glow Fish, Lapis Fish, Grass Tilapia, Scarlet Frinehead, Stormscale Tautog, Darkscale Fish, Radiant Goldfish, Deadmare Eel, Toxic Chromatic Koi.
Amber Isle hosts some of the most valuable glowing rares in the game. Use Crystal luck boosts sparingly here — the boost return is much higher than on starter hubs.
Glowing Rares and Luck Boosts
Glowing rares are the same fish species as their non-glowing variants, but they glow and sell for substantially more Cash. They are RNG-based drops gated by your rod's Luck stat. Crystals activate a temporary luck boost (see the luck boosts guide). Source: BloxInformer Heavyweight Fishing Wiki.
Use Crystal luck boosts only on islands where your rod can actually land the glowing rare family. Boosting on the starter hub wastes Crystals because starter commons have no glowing-tier variants.
Sea Bosses (Heavyweight Fish)
Sea bosses are the heaviest "fish" in the game. They appear in deep water around mid and endgame islands, drop the largest Cash payouts, and require boss-tier rod Power (Ocean Master or Leviathan) plus boss-Skill-immune skills (Whirlwind Fishing Art, Shangqing Realm, Heaven's Burden, or Vajra Godcast). See the sea bosses map and the beat sea bosses guide.
