All Rods in Heavyweight Fishing

Every rod in Heavyweight Fishing — Bamboo through Starlight plus the crafted Heavenpiercer and Pure Diamond rods — with Power, Luck, cost, island location, and acquisition method.

How the Rod System Works

Every rod in Heavyweight Fishing has two core stats: Power and Luck. Power determines how heavy a fish you can land without snapping the line. Luck improves your chance at glowing rares and premium fish. As you unlock higher-Power islands, your rod's Power stat becomes the gate — staying on a low-Power rod past your current island wastes Cash on broken lines. Most rods are purchased from Biao Di, the Rod Seller NPC on each island. Two rods (Cryo Gravity Rod and Soul Thorn Rod) require completing a quest from Biao Di. Two endgame rods (Heavenpiercer and Pure Diamond) are crafted at any Rod Seller.

Cryo Gravity Rod and Soul Thorn Rod (Quest Rods)

Two rods cannot be bought directly. You must complete a Biao Di quest on the relevant island:

  • Cryo Gravity Rod (Frost Isle, 36 Luck / 65 Power / 8M Cash) — Biao Di offers a quest chain that involves landing specific Frost Isle fish. The 36 Luck ceiling is the highest among non-crafted rods at that tier, making it a valuable bridge before Starlight.
  • Soul Thorn Rod (Coconut Isle, 19 Luck / 75 Power / 20M Cash) — Biao Di's Coconut Isle quest is longer. The 75 Power jumps you past several rod tiers but the low Luck means rare fish are harder to land.

The quest objectives change after major patches — always re-check the Trello board and the update log before starting a quest chain.

Heavenpiercer and Pure Diamond (Crafted Mythics)

The two strongest rods are crafted, not purchased:

  • Heavenpiercer Rod — 36 Luck / 100 Power. The higher-Luck mythic option. Crafting recipe requires rare mob drops from Amber Isle and a 50M+ Cash material cost.
  • Pure Diamond Rod — 30 Luck / 100 Power. The alternative mythic with slightly lower Luck but a different material recipe (favoured by players who already stockpile Diamond-tier fish).

Both rods reach the 100 Power cap, which is the absolute max in the current live build. Heavenpiercer has the better Luck stat. Source: Sportskeeda crafting recipes and Roonby All Rods Guide.

How to Choose Your Upgrade Path

Generally upgrade to the rod with the highest Power your current Cash can reach. Luck matters if you are farming specific glowing rares on mid islands — Cryo Gravity Rod's 36 Luck is the standout mid-game option for that role. Endgame players usually pick Heavenpiercer for the 36 Luck ceiling.

Pair your rod with the right skill build on the best rod build page and the matching orb on the orbs guide.
