Orbs Guide for Heavyweight Fishing

Every orb in Heavyweight Fishing explained — Maoshan, Taoist, Qian Gate, Sage Yijiu, Cloud Ascension, Execution — with skill-family matching, how to get each, and beginner roll tips.

What Are Orbs in Heavyweight Fishing

Orbs are passive buff items in Heavyweight Fishing that strengthen specific Skill families. Each orb slots into your power or inventory panel and applies bonuses — Damage, Cooldown Reduction, Cash Increase, or Drop Chance — but only to the Skill family named on the orb's tooltip. An orb rolled for the wrong family does nothing useful, no matter how high the stats. Check the live tooltip before you equip.

Unlike rod tiers or skill purchases, orb progression is about matching the right passive to the right build. The system rewards understanding over grinding — a mid-roll Maoshan Orb on a Maoshan build beats a perfect Sage Yijiu Orb on a different character.

This guide covers all six confirmed orbs with their skill families, stat ranges, and acquisition routes. Source: Pro Game Guides (updated September 2026) cross-referenced with Bloxodes and Roonby.

All Orbs and Their Skill Families

Maoshan Orb — Works With: Maoshan Skills
Stat ranges: Cooldown Reduction 5%–10%, Damage 25%–200%, Drop Chance 1%–50%. The damage ceiling is the largest of any orb, making a high-roll Maoshan Orb a significant upgrade for Maoshan Skill builds. This is the offensive pick for players focused on raw damage output. See the Maoshan Merchant locations page.

Taoist Orb — Works With: Apex Eagle Hunt Skills
Stat ranges: Cooldown Reduction 5%–10%, Damage 25%–200%, Cash Increase 5%–25%, Drop Chance 1%–50%. The most versatile orb in the game because it stacks offensive and economic bonuses on the same item. Cash Increase makes it worth using even if the damage roll is mid-tier.

Qian Gate Orb — Works With: Qian Gate Dao Skills
Stat ranges: Cooldown Reduction 5%–10%, Damage 20%–100%, Drop Chance 1%–100%. The lowest damage ceiling, but the potential 100% Drop Chance makes it uniquely valuable for players farming rare drops.

Sage Yijiu Orb — Works With: Sage Yijiu Skills
Stat ranges: Damage 50%–200%, Cash Increase 5%–25%. A straightforward offensive orb with no utility stats. The damage floor is high (50%) so even a low roll contributes meaningfully.

Cloud Ascension Orb — Works With: Cloud Ascension Skills
Stat ranges: Cooldown Reduction 1%–25%, Damage 10%–120%, Drop Chance 5%–15%. The highest potential Cooldown Reduction of any orb (25%) makes this the utility pick for Cloud Ascension builds.

Execution Orb — Works With: Five Execution Skills
Stat ranges: Damage 5%–150%, Cash Increase 10%–40%, Cooldown Reduction 5%–25%. The most flexible orb across three stat categories.

How to Get Orbs

There are two confirmed acquisition routes for orbs in Heavyweight Fishing. Neither is guaranteed — both involve RNG — but completing quests is the free path, while summoning from Banners costs Tickets or Crystals.

Summoning from Banners: Banners are the same summoning system used for new Skills. When you pull a banner, orb rewards appear alongside skill acquisitions. See the pity system for summon guarantees.

Completing Quests and Buying From the Maoshan Merchant: Some in-game quests reward orbs directly. The Maoshan Merchant also sells orb materials at 700M Cash per stack. Progress through the island chain and check the merchant's inventory each rotation.

Bac Minh Note: Bac Minh Orb has appeared as a seventh quest entry on some servers, but it is unclear whether it counts as a sixth or seventh orb in the live orb tab. Check your Orbs panel directly.

Orb Matching for Beginners

The single most important rule: match the orb to the Skill family you actually use. Damage rolls on the wrong family are wasted stats.

  • Using Maoshan Skills? → Equip a Maoshan Orb
  • Using Apex Eagle Hunt Skills? → Equip a Taoist Orb
  • Using Qian Gate Dao Skills? → Equip a Qian Gate Orb
  • Using Sage Yijiu Skills? → Equip a Sage Yijiu Orb
  • Using Cloud Ascension Skills? → Equip a Cloud Ascension Orb
  • Using Five Execution Skills? → Equip an Execution Orb

If you are just starting out, do not chase perfect orbs immediately. Focus on getting a functional orb for the Skill family you already own — a usable mid-roll beats an empty slot.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many orbs are there in Heavyweight Fishing? ▼

Six confirmed orbs: Maoshan, Taoist, Qian Gate, Sage Yijiu, Cloud Ascension, and Execution. Bac Minh may appear as a seventh quest entry — check the live Orbs tab.

Do orbs work with all Skills? ▼

No. Each orb is tied to a specific Skill family. An orb only boosts the Skill family written on its tooltip.

What is the best orb? ▼

There is no universal best. Taoist Orb and Execution Orb are the most flexible because they cover multiple stat categories. Maoshan Orb has the highest damage ceiling.

Can I reroll orb stats? ▼

Orb stats appear to be set on acquisition. The best strategy is to keep rerolling traits on your rod instead and match the right orb family to your build.

Where do I get orbs for free? ▼

Completing certain quests can reward orbs without spending Tickets or Crystals. Banner summoning also yields orbs alongside Skills.

Should beginners chase orbs? ▼

No. Get a functional build first — solid rod, useful Skills, and a keeper rod. Orbs are an optimization layer for mid-game and beyond.
