First Session Checklist
Your first Heavyweight Fishing session sets the pace for everything that follows. After spawning on the hub island, complete any tutorial prompts that teach casting and selling fish. Immediately open the codes menu and redeem HWF for the Golden Starwing Rod skin and BacMinh for the Bac Minh Technique skill — both have no level requirement and provide the strongest free power spike available to new accounts.
Learn basic controls on your platform before grinding. PC players should read our PC controls guide for mouse-driven reel precision. Mobile players benefit from the mobile controls page for touch-specific tips. The reel minigame is the core skill — practice keeping the tension indicator out of the red zone on common starter fish before attempting anything heavier.
Sell every fish you catch for Cash. Never let your inventory cap waste catches. Your first purchase target is the Iron Rod at 5k Cash, followed by Steel Rod at 25k. Buy cheap C-tier skills like Skyfall Stomp at 100 cost and Reel Machine at 1.6k to fill early skill slots while learning ability timing during fights.
Levels 1-15: Economy and Codes
Levels 1 through 15 focus on Cash income and code redemption. Fish exclusively on starter hub islands where your Starter Rod and Iron Rod handle catch weights comfortably. Grind until Steel Rod feels within reach, then upgrade immediately — the catch weight ceiling jump pays for itself within a few sessions.
Redeem every code you qualify for using our active codes list and code level checker. At Level 20, milestone codes like 33KLikes and 32KLikes grant 10 Tickets, 15 Crystals, and 20k Cash — a massive early boost. Save Tickets initially rather than spending on random spins; plan purchases around B-tier skills like Reel Sprint at 2k and Dragon-Fish at 5k.
- Redeem HWF and BacMinh on day one
- Upgrade Starter Rod → Iron Rod → Steel Rod in order
- Practice reel minigame on common fish daily
- Hit Level 20 for like-milestone code rewards
- Read the how to play guide for system overview
Follow the redeem codes guide if the in-game codes menu confuses you. Failed redemptions usually mean level requirements or typos — not broken codes.
Levels 15-25: Preparing for Mid Game
By Level 15 you should own Steel Rod and at least two useful skills — typically Reel Machine plus Bac Minh Technique or Reel Sprint. Begin exploring the first mid-tier island chain on our islands map to preview heavier fish that fund Emerald Rod savings at 100k Cash.
Master the reel minigame before mid-game content punishes mistakes harshly. Read reel minigame tips and practice red-zone avoidance until you land ten consecutive catches without breaking line. This skill matters more than rod tier for early boss attempts.
At Level 25 you transition into mid-game walkthrough content. Finish Steel Rod fishing on starter islands, bank your Cash, and prepare Emerald Rod purchase timing covered in the mid-game walkthrough. Track your economy with the progression calculator to estimate days until your next major upgrade.
